Character Art – Adima

Adima from The Hourglass

First, I must thank the artist, verdant (verdant.deviantart.com), for this their rendition of Adima!

Adima is the lady in white. She exudes elegance and refinement. Here is a snippet from when our cast of characters first meet her:

There, framed in the threshold, was a beautiful creature wearing a stunning pure-white velvet cloak. She stood in the doorway, the cloak falling in wavelike folds around her feet. Her hood was up and surrounded her face, and although she was physically in her midtwenties, her bearing caused her to seem older. With amazing light-blue eyes, she peered at the group assembled inside. Then, as if she were gliding, she stepped forward and, unfolding her hands, gently lowered her hood, revealing her remarkable long blonde hair.

Adima can be mysterious at times – she definitely doesn’t spill all the beans about herself from the get-go. We first meet her in the parallel world of Altier, in the kingdom of Imag, where she announces she is leaving – to go to the antiques store in America in the world we know. She doesn’t say much, but is very succinct in her speech. She has a key role to play, and the reader doesn’t fully understand it until the end.

Please enjoy the portrait, and I hope it spikes your interest into reading my book, The Hourglass. Thanks for stopping by!
